Pay and Display should be coming in at Pepper Street only (as a start) on 1 May 2009. It will be free for first 2 hours, with no return for 2 hours. £2.10 for 2 to 4 hours and £10 over 4 hours.
This is I feel a good compromise for everybody concerned, but would have preferred to see it introduced on Henry Street as well.
Lets hope the restructuring of Davies Way including the removal of the recycling facilities also goes ahead, I will be chasing this up on behalf of Lymm Traders.

At least it's progress - the next step should be to announce this change as much as possible so the public are aware of it. no doubt Lymm Life will do their usual sterling work, also the Warringtom Gaurdian are running village advertising features over the next few months -I suggested they should do a feature on the new car parking circumstances in the May issue along with the advertising, they were very receptive to this idea. What else could we do to shout it from the rooftops & win back shoppers? a banner above the main street perhaps? a door to door leaflet drop? any other ideas?

It is felt they take up far too much of the car park and now recycling bins are provided for each individual houshold they are perhaps overkill. There was talk of puting them somewhere else, but a location as far as I know hasnt been decided as yet. The car park is also supposed to be re-marked to provide more spaces.

In fact there is a further development. The paper bins are being moved anyway because, apparently, people are putting non-paper items in them and this contaminates the paper, making it useless. It then has to go to landfill, which defeats the whole object of the exercise. So the paper bins will be going even without an alternative site being found.

Thats a start, lets hope they re-site the rest, there was talk the changes could open up another 20 spaces!

A logical alternative location for the recycling zone would be just inside the entrance to Ridgeway Grundy Park, which is only just across the road to Davies Way. Plenty of space for storage and turning and it can be screened off with planting from the rest of the park so as not to spoil the views.
Almost everything is brought by car, so no big deal there and it takes the Bin Wagons out of the Car Park too.
